About Us
Helping the UK find a better SIM — for free.
We’re a small team of UK editors obsessed with mobile networks, coverage maps and the tiny print on PAYG bundles — so you don’t have to be.
Our Story
Free Sim Cards UK started in 2023 after one too many evenings spent helping family and friends switch network. The same questions kept coming up: “Which one actually has signal where I live?”, “Will I really get charged £0?”, “Can I keep my number?”
The official network sites all looked great — but none of them told you how they compared. So we built the page we wished existed: a single, honest, side-by-side comparison of every free SIM offer in the UK.
Today we cover nine major networks, refresh our pricing every month, and read every piece of feedback our visitors send in. The site is still independent and run by the same small team.
Our Mission
Make ordering a SIM card in the UK as simple, transparent and free as it should be — no jargon, no upsells, no contracts you didn’t ask for.
Independent
We’re not owned by any network. Rankings are based on coverage, value and real user feedback.
Transparent
If a link earns us a commission, you still pay £0. We mark affiliate links clearly.
Helpful
Every guide is written by a human who’s actually ordered the SIM and tested it.
How we work
We re-price every network monthly
Bundles change constantly. We re-check Vodafone, O2, Three, EE, giffgaff, SMARTY, Lebara, Lyca and Voxi at the start of every month.
We cross-check coverage with Ofcom
Network coverage maps are optimistic. We compare them against Ofcom’s UK 4G/5G data so you get a realistic picture.
We listen to real users
Trustpilot reviews, Reddit threads and reader emails all feed into our ratings. If a network’s customer service tanks, the rating drops.
We never recommend a paid plan you don’t need
Every SIM on this site is genuinely free to order. No catches, no auto-enrolment, no contract.
